Dr. Ploutz-Snyder earned his PhD in Experimental Psychology from Ohio University in 1998, with extensive training in Experimental Methods and Statistics. Dr. Ploutz-Snyder came to USRA from an Associate Professor Faculty/Biostatistician appointment in the College of Medicine at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University (SUNY UMU). Dr. Ploutz-Snyder also held an Adjunct appointment in Syracuse University's Whitman School of Management, where he taught multiple regression statistics. At SUNY UMU, Dr. Ploutz-Snyder served as the Biostatistician Co-Investigator or Consultant on twenty-four grants. He authored/co-authored over 35 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous abstracts in medical journals and conferences in the areas including, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Drug & Alcohol Addiction, Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective Disorder, Malaria & Epstein Barr, Primary Care, Telemedicine, Exercise Physiology, Orthopedics, Liver Fibrosis/Cirrhosis, and Hepatitis-C. Prior to his faculty appointment at SUNY UMU, he was Director of Institutional Research and Assessment at SUNY Cortland, where he gained national prominence in the Association for Institutional Research in applied statistics. While he has a wide breadth of Biostatistical knowledge and applications, his primary interests are in multilevel modeling of longitudinal effects in continuous outcomes. He is a Biostatistician in the Biostatistics Lab of Johnson Space Center's Human Adaptation and Countermeasures Division.
