SECOND BIENNIAL SPACE HUMAN FACTORS WORKSHOP
January 23–24, 2002 · Center for Advanced Space Studies · Houston, Texas

PRESENTATION INFORMATION

Space Human Factors NRA and Technology Development Project principal investigators are invited to make one oral presentation and one poster presentation of their funded NASA research (you may choose to discuss more than one project in your 15-minute talk if you hold multiple grants) in the context of their own long-term research plans and in relation to the long-term research and development questions posed by NASA.

ABSTRACT
Principal investigators are requested to submit a one-page abstract (maximum of 1,000 words) in Microsoft Word that summarizes the research that will be presented in both their 15-minute oral talk and their poster. Please e-mail the abstract to Brian Peacock at bpeacock@ems.jsc.nasa.gov by November 14, 2001.

ORAL PRESENTATION
Please plan to present a 15-minute talk on your NASA-funded project. You may use a maximum of 20 PowerPoint (Mac or PC format) slides that will be loaded by USRA personnel on a laptop computer in the presentation room. Your title page should include your name, credentials, and organization. To prevent compatibility problems and to assure a smooth flow in a tight presentation schedule, you will not be allowed to connect your laptop to the data projector. Therefore, you must e-mail your oral presentation (labeled accordingly) to Gail Pacetti at USRA (pacetti@dsls.usra.edu) by December 14, 2001.

AVAILABLE AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT
The following equipment will be available for your oral presentation:
Macintosh ibook with 128 MB memory with Office 98, QuickTime 5 and Adobe Acrobat 4.0
Toshiba Satellite laptop with 128 MB memory, Windows 98 with Office 2000, QuickTime 5, and Adobe Acrobat 4.0

POSTER SESSION/RECEPTIONS
There will be ample time and opportunity for presenters to discuss their posters with the assembled community during two informal early evening poster session/receptions. You may choose to stand near your poster in order to discuss it with your colleagues, but there will be no strict manning schedule. Please plan to use PowerPoint slides (a maximum of 20) for your poster. You may choose to submit different slides for your poster and for your oral presentation; just be sure to label them accordingly. After you send the slides via e-mail to Gail Pacetti at USRA (pacetti@dsls.usra.edu) by December 14, 2001, USRA personnel will print the slides and hang them on 44"x 88" poster boards.
