Application Questions

1. Am I eligible for this program, even though I am only an undergraduate student?
The program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. However, some student research positions will specifically require a graduate student with particular academic or research experience.


2. Do I really have to be a U.S. Citizen to apply?
Due to the stringent security requirements at NASA JSC, the part-time status and relatively short-term nature of these positions, eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens.


3. How long are applications being accepted?

Applications will be accepted for posted positions until filled. There are no regularly scheduled application cycles for this program.


4. Can I fax my application package?
Your original signature is required on the Application Form. Therefore, all required documents must be submitted in one package by mail or hand delivered to USRA.


5. Who should I choose to write my letter of recommendation?
The person you choose to write letters of recommendation must be a faculty member or student advisor and should be able to adequately comment on your academic standing, leadership potential, and overall character.


6. What majors are eligible to apply for this program?
All majors are considered; however, students majoring in NASA-related science, engineering, technology, or mathematics programs are more likely to be qualified.
