Jancy C. McPhee, Ph.D.

Dr. McPhee earned her B.A. in Neurobiology and Behavior from Cornell University and her Ph.D. in Biophysics from Brandeis University. Her graduate work at Brandeis and subsequent postdoctoral research at the University of Washington and the California Institute of Technology used molecular biological, electrophysiological and biochemical techniques to analyze the structure and function of cellular receptors and ion channels. Just prior to her arrival at USRA in 2004, she had been working with NASA, assisting with the development and management of several aspects of the space life sciences research program. While at USRA, she will plan and coordinate several new and ongoing projects in the human health and performance area of bioastronautics research, including the International Multidisciplinary Artificial Gravity and the Digital Astronaut/Bioinformatics Projects.
