First Announcement — May 2012
(Updated July 23, 2012)
Meeting Location and Date
The 17th Annual Workshop for Radiation Monitoring on the International Space Station (WRMISS 2012) will be held September 4–6, 2012, at The Driskill Hotel, 604 Brazos Street, Austin TX 78701. This NASA Operational Meeting is limited to NASA, IPs, and their associated researchers making radiation measurements on the International Space Station (ISS).
Purpose and Scope
The major purpose of WRMISS is to provide a forum for discussion on technical issues concerning radiation dosimetry onboard the International Space Station and other spacecraft. This includes discussion of new results, improved instrumentation, detector calibration, and radiation environment and transport models. The goal of WRMISS is to enhance international efforts to provide the best information on the space radiation environment in low-Earth orbit and on the exposure of astronauts and cosmonauts in order to optimize the radiation safety of space crew.
The three-day NASA Operational Meeting will consist of invited and contributed oral presentations, and is limited to NASA, IPs, and their associated researchers making radiation measurements on the International Space Station (ISS).
The meeting will be structured with morning and afternoon oral sessions organized around topical themes. Each oral session will contain invited talks and contributed oral presentations with time for questions and discussion. Presentations should not exceed 30 minutes, including discussion, and should be limited to the contribution of new results or techniques, rather than long introductions.
Audio-visual equipment available for oral presentations will include one LCD projector and one PC laptop.
