Yvonne Roed, M.S.
Senior Research Assistant
Yvonne Roed earned her Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Kiel, Germany, in December 2007. She joined USRA in April 2008 and has been working with the Space Radiation Analysis Group at NASA Johnson Space Center since.
Currently, her main tasks include radiation measurements for operational support of both the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station as well as radiation dosimetry for astronauts.
In addition, she participates in international research collaborations such as the MATROSHKA project (depth dose measurements at different organs as well as skin doses using an anthropomorphic phantom inside and outside the ISS) and the DOSIS Project (radiation measurements at different shielding configurations inside the ESA Columbus Module on ISS). Both projects are collaborations with the German Aerospace Agency.
