Dazhuang Zhou, Ph. D.
Visiting Fellow
dazhuang.zhou-1@nasa.gov

Dazhuang Zhou received his Ph.D. in Physics from University College Dublin, National University of Ireland. His research work was focused on the properties of cosmic rays at aviation altitudes and in space. He worked at the University of Science and Technology of China (1970-1996), the Enrico Fermi Institute at the University of Chicago (1983-1985), the Italian National Agency of Environmental Protection (1992-1994) and the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (1996-2004). He joined USRA and the Space Radiation Analysis Group at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in October 2004.

The focus of Dr. Zhou’s current work is space radiation, including measurement methods, detector development and calibration, data acquisition and data analysis for Linear Energy Transfer (LET) spectra (fluence, absorbed dose, dose equivalent and the effective quality factor) and the charge spectra of cosmic rays including HZE (high charge and high energy) particles through Iron.
